Introduction:
801-D2 rheological additive is a newly-produced self-activated organic ammonium montmorillionite organoclay, which is the rheological additive of paint, printing oil for the medium-high polar solvent systems of aromatic hydrocarbon, esters, kenote. It needs to be added with activator (such as 95% ethanol, 30-40% weight of the organic clay) to help disperse in the medium-high polar solvent systems like xylene-esters (such as butyl acetate), xylene-ketone (such as cyclohexanone), xylene-butanol. This product is similar to Bentone-SD2, Tixogel-MP250.
Application:
801-D2 is a kind of dispersible broad-spectrum rheological additive, especially suitable in the medium-high polar solvent systems, such as xylene, xylene-butyl acetate, xylene-cyclohexanone solvent systems. It can be used in antiseptic paint, boat paint, industrial decorative paint, car primer coat, binder and sealing materials.
Usage:
801-D2 rheological additive is usually directly added during the product's grinding process, under the cutting power of grinding (or whipping) to disperse the pigment, 801-D2 will disperse and activate gradually and completely. The common usage is as follows:
Add resin/solvent
Add 801-D2 additive, whip in high speed for 10-20 minutes
Add wetting agent, pigment, grind and disperse (whipping, ball-milling, sanding) to the required fineness
Add other materials in the ingredient, disperse continuously to be even.
Dosage:
801-D2 rheological additive's dosage in the paint is determined by the required thickening effect, rheological performance controlling request, pigment's precipitation degree. General dosage range is 0.5-1.5% of paint amount. Usually it can be probated according to the dosage of common organoclay before optimization. Usually, its dosage is less than that of common organoclay.
