Introduction:
Introducing 801-D Rheological Additive, a premier dispersible and self-activated organic ammonium montmorillonite organoclay. This additive is engineered for excellence in low-medium aliphatic hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, and high-polarity solvent systems such as paints and printing oils. When used in medium-high polarity systems (xylene, butyl acetate, cyclohexanone), it disperses seamlessly without activators. In low-polarity solvents (like 200# solvent oil and mineral alcohol), it requires a polar activator (95% ethanol at 30-40% weight). Comparable to Bentone-SD1, 801-D sets the standard for versatility and performance.

Application:
801-D Rheological Additive is a versatile solution for a wide array of applications, including antiseptic paints, printing oils, marine coatings, industrial decorative paints, automotive primers, and sealing materials. Its broad-spectrum dispersibility ensures top-tier performance across diverse industries.

Usage:
For optimal results, add 801-D Rheological Additive during the grinding phase of production. Under the cutting force of grinding or whipping, 801-D disperses and activates completely. Follow these steps for effective use:
1. Add resin/solvent
2. Introduce 801-D additive, then whip at high speed for 10-20 minutes
3. In low-polar solvents (200# solvent oil, white oil), add a polar activator (95% ethanol at 30-40% weight of the organoclay) and whip for 10-20 minutes. In medium-high polar solvent systems (xylene, xylene-butyl acetate), the additive self-activates and disperses without needing an activator.
4. Add wetting agents and pigments, then grind and disperse (whipping, ball-milling, sanding) to achieve the desired fineness.
5. Incorporate other materials into the mixture and continue dispersing until even.

Dosage
The appropriate dosage of 801-D Rheological Additive in paints depends on the desired thickening effect, rheological performance, and pigment precipitation. Typically, the dosage ranges from 0.5-1.5% of the total paint volume, often less than common organoclays. Adjust according to pre-optimization trials for best results.
