Introduction:
801-D rheological additive is a kind of dispersible, self-activated organic ammonium
montmorillonite organoclay, is the rheological additive for the low-medium aliphatic hydrocarbon,
ester and ketone, and paint, printing oil in some high polar solvent systems. In some medium-high
polar solvent systems of xylene, xylene, ester (such as butyl acetate) and xylene, ketone (such as
cyclohexanone) , it can be self-activatedly dispersed without activator; while it needs to add
activator to help dispersion in the low polar solvent with 200# solvent oil and white oil (mineral
alcohol) aliphatic hydrocarbon. This product is similar to Bentone-SD1.
Application:
801-D is a kind of dispersible broad-spectrum rheological additive, which can be used in antiseptic
paint, printing oil, boat paint, industrial decorative paint, car primer coat and sealing materials.
Usage:
801-D rheological additive is directly added during the grinding process of product-making, under
the cutting power of grinding (or whipping) to disperse the pigment, 801-D will disperse and
activate completely. The common usage is as follows:
Add resin/solvent
Add 801-D additive, whip in high speed for 10-20 minutes
If solvent is the low polar solvent with 200# solvent oil and white oil aliphatic hydrocarbon, add
polar activator (such as 95% ethanol), 30-40% weight of the organoclay, whip in high speed for
10-20 minutes; if solvent is the medium-high polar solvent system with xylene, xylene-butyl acetate,
it can be self-activatedly dispersed without activator.
Add wetting agent, pigment, grind and disperse (whipping, ball-milling, sanding) to the required
fineness
Add other materials in the ingredient, disperse continuously to be even.
Dosage
801-D rheological additive's dosage in paint is determined by the required thickening effect,
rheological performance controlling request, pigment's precipitation degree, common dosage range
is 0.5-1.5% of paint amount. Usually it can be probated according to the dosage of common
organoclay before optimization. Usually, its dosage is less than that of common organoclay.
